|CORSICA and SARDINIA: Mediterranean islands with a strong character|
Corsica, the „French island kissed by the sun of Italy“, and Sardinia, Italy’s „true“ island, are very similar and very different at the same time. Both of them feature century-old granite rocks, Mediterranean macchia and ancient people as attested by a legacy of archaeological sites, a typical local /agricultural cuisine. Yet, Corsica is a mountainous land(with mountains over 2500 m) and has narrow curve roads, while Sardinia (3 times as large as Corsica) has outstanding beaches with crystal waters.
Both can be reached by ferry (for example from Livorno to Corsica on a 4 hours ferry ride, and from Livorno to Sardinia on a 6 hours ferry ride).
A tour of both islands is a good choice since they are located at 12 km from each other and daily ferries connect the two islands.
Please note that the 2005 tour programmes will be ready in November/December 2004 and that all transfers are in usual large buses (12 m length, 3.60 , height). Accommodation in cabins is intended as inner cabin. The availability of inner cabins is to be checked at the moment of reservation (end of the year) and eventually also external cabins are available at supplement.
4 stars hotels are very limited in Corsica, however there is a wide range of high-rise 2 stars and 3 stars hotels, although standards may be different within the same category.
